"Greatest achievement or nearest miss" - by Mitchell Scarvaci
"As I sit and write this piece I am sitting at my laptop with an icepack on a slight knock that kept me out of training and could possibly keep me out of mine and Revolution's first ever final. Now the date has finally been set it all seems so real now, you know a date to jot down to look forward to and boy is it creeping up fast!

The night itself will be a first for a lot of the lads at Revo. Not just a final, but a chance to play at a
nice ground under floodlights and a nice surface and for the Gaffer - dugouts! It's a real occasion
to look forward to and enjoy but in the back of everyones minds are two fears. Number 1; the fear
of not being part of the squad. Number 2; the fear of failure. As far as number 1 goes it's
anyones guess as to who the Gaffer will put his faith in to win the cup, because once he has
picked the starting 11 and the 5 substitutes, his hard work is just about over. That's when
the player's hard work begins. Getting mentally and physically prepared. Having played in 6 semi
finals and this being the first time progressing into the final, I will be taking the chance I have of
playing In a final with both hands as the chance may never arise again.

Pinkneys Green are a team we have played before with mixed results. They beat us at their place
and we gained a little bit of revenge by beating them at ours. With the most important of the
three meetings to come it's going to be a close call. As far as our season has gone in my opinion
it hasn't been the greatest one to date with the teams performances varying from the outstanding
to the unpredictable, with only this cup final to make up for it. Which Revo will turn up? We have
suffered a lot this season with injuries which we haven't experienced in recent years. With
(James) Quarrell and I out for much of the winter period and Craig (Anderson) being out ill and Georgie (boardman) picking up a knock. But with the final only a little over a week away, we are getting back to full strength.

If anything is for sure then that is that the Gaffer has one hell of a job to pick his team and we have an equally tough task to overcome our opponents. But what I do know is that it will be a day to remember and hopefully for the right reasons because when the dust settles it will either be our greatest achievement or nearest miss to date!

Be there or miss out, Stag Meadow, Windsor. Tuesday 4th May, 7.30pm."
