On the morning of the 6th of September 2009 Maidenhead Revolution turned up to Datchet with one objective in mind - To walk away with the Atlantic Celtic Trophy.

With the Dragons playing in at least 4 games, with the last one being a playoff, they knew a good start was important and they got it when lee hunt scored with in the first 5 minutes of the first game against UCB. After last years tournament, the Revolution only scored two goals so it was a good solid start. However the positive start came and went when UCB scored with a lucky deflected effort passed keeper Simon Eaton. However Revo missed a hat full of chances to seal the game up and failed to get the three points.

Game two against Hedgerley ended in defeat. Maidenhead never got out the blocks and conceded two first half goals early on. They did improve late on in the second half but it was too little to late.

In the third game Revolution faced Shooting Staines, a team who would be in Division 4 this season along with the Dragons. Revolution had the chance to go 1-0 up with a penalty but Jake Pearce-Vogan failed to convert. The game ended 0-0 and Revo had to face 1st Place in Group A - Hobgoblin Hangover in the playoff to get to the semi-final.

Game 4: Playoff. In a very close game, it was 0-0 until Hobgoblin scored with only minutes to spare. Revolution looked out….under…..done……until one of the greatest comebacks in Datchet Tournament history.  With one minute to go, Dan Bates earned Revo a free kick just in the Hobgoblin half. The Free Kick was floated in by captain Scarvaci and was flicked on by centre half Calum Brown causing a  goal mouth scramble which led to Jake Pearce-Vogan smashing his way through to equalise in the last seconds of the game. In the second half of extra time and a foul was called in the box on winger, Dan Bates. Lee hunt stepped up to take it and scored. But the referee wanted it to be re-taken because of encroachment. The re-take ended in the same outcome with Hunt converting for the golden goal sealing their route to the semi-final! (click Here for Page 2!)
